The biggest Davenport-area fire in 25 years is keeping firefighters busy looking for hot spots this morning. Most of the Quad City Consolidation and Distribution Center was demolished. It held 75-million dollars in John Deere lawn care equipment. Davenport Fire Chief Mark Freese says his crews were hampered by low water pressure and couldn’t save much of the huge structure.Smoke from the fire could be seen as far away as Iowa City — 60 miles to the west. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
