One Iowan wins Powerball second prize

February 22, 2001 By admin

Nobody in Iowa won the big prize in last night’s Powerball drawing, but one person who bought a ticket in Iowa is a second-place winner. Iowa Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer says the 100-thousand dollar ticket from last night’s drawing was sold at the Mediapolis Fast Break Store on Highway 61 in Mediapolis. She says that’s the third 100-thousand dollar winner from Iowa in just a week. As yet, nothing is known about the person or group who bought the ticket in Rhode Island that’s worth 93-point-five million dollars.
