Republican State Auditor Richard Johnson’s plotting a run for Congress.Johnson, who is 66-years-old, has been Iowa’s Auditor for 24 years, and he says it’s time for a new adventure.Johnson’s seeking the seat Congressman Greg Ganske’s giving up to run for the U-S Senate, but the make-up of that district may change later this spring when the legislature re-maps Iowa’s congressional districts.Johnson, a C-P-A who describes himself as a “fiscal conservative”, lives in Sheldahl. He served as Sheldahl’s Mayor for nearly 12 years, from 1963 to ’74.
