Iowans who loved the movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” may find themselves swept away by the Asian culture tomorrow at a festival in Iowa City. Akua Akyea is helping organize the event, which she says will feature all sorts of martial arts.Akyea is co-chair of the “Celebrating Cultural Diversity Festival,” in its 12th year at the University of Iowa. She says more than 60 educational programs are planned which feature ethnic foods, crafts, sports, fashion and music.Akyea says the annual event is rich in all sorts of culture — from fencing to drumming, from yoga to mask making and from tae kwon do to Irish step dancing. The event runs from noon to 5 p-m Sunday at the U-of-I Fieldhouse.
