Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell is calling on President Bush to continue funding to modernize the National Animal Disease Center in Ames. Bush’s budget would cut 44-million in construction funding for the facility.Boswell says the research done at the N-A-D-C is important to keeping America’s food supply safe. He says the outbreak of hoof-and-mouth disease in Europe is an example. Boswell says the N-A-D-C is the equivalent of the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta that handles human diseases.
