Polk County seeks Vision Iowa funds

Polk County officials went before the “Vision Iowa” board Monday to outline their 75-million dollar request for state financing of the “Iowa Events Center” in Des Moines. Polk County spokesman Phil Roeder says the board had some specific questions about the 200-million dollar project, and they’ll answer them next month.The “Iowa Events Center” may be home for an “Iowa Hall of Pride”.When the “Iowa Hall of Pride” project was reviewed by the “Vision Iowa” board, board members expressed concern about its proposed location Boone. Two weeks ago, the Iowa High School Athletic Association announced it wanted to build the “Hall of Pride” in Des Moines in the proposed “Iowa Events Center” instead.
