The Iowa Hawkeyes built a 15-point halftime lead enroute to a 72-55 victory over Northwestern in the play-in round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday. Hawks Coach Steve Alford says it wasn’t a complete effort but it wasn’t bad either.Senior Dean Oliver says they made an effort to get the ball inside.When Northwestern closed the gap to within three points in the second half, it was Oliver who answered with a two and a three. Olive says he was trying to get the team going after missing some early shots.Iowa plays Ohio State tonight.
