Inmates captured after escape in Western Iowa

March 13, 2001 By admin

Two western Iowa inmates on the run are back behind bars. The men escaped from the Pottawattamie County Jail in Council Bluffs last night and were captured at an Omaha-area truck stop. 26-year-old James Al Lee of Omaha and 29-year-old Thomas Keith of Creston apparently escaped through an air vent. Tire tracks near the wall indicate the two may have had outside help. Lee was charged in a bank robbery; Keith was charged with murder.
