Philosophers meet in Dubuque

March 15, 2001 By admin

About 40 Christian philosophers from across the country are gathering today for a three-day conference at the University of Dubuque. Roger Ebertz — an organizer for the “Society of Christian Philosophers” — says they’re looking for some good ol’ conversation. Ebertz says the group formed because people of faith aren’t always accepted in the academic world. Ebertz says philosophy is not a one-way street subject. Ebertz says this is just one branch of many included in the philosophical community. The conference will focus on some present day issues. Ebertz says it’s an opportunity to explore some perspectives of society. The conference starts today and concludes Saturday.
