Groups seek to improve watershed

Several agencies in Polk County have combined to try and improve the quality of water in their area. Carrie Sears of the Des Moines Waterworks says the program is designed to educate people about the impact they have on their own water supply.Sears says the project called the “Urban Environmental Partnership” is something any community in Iowa can use. She says we need to learn that each individual can make a difference.She says the program is a form of education for adults and children. One of the big goals is to teach children through programs in area schools.Sears says it’s important to teach children early how to take care of our environment. Sears says the program is something that can be used anywhere in the state.
