While today’s events honoring St. Patrick are usually associated with the color green, runners taking part in this morning’s “Gaelic Gallop” in Dyersville will instead try not to turn blue from the cold.Mary Wessels is helping organize the two- and five-mile races. She says the 20th annual event is always held the weekend of St. Patrick’s Day, which usually means wintry weather. Wessels tries to “spin” that into positive news, saying, at least runners don’t usually get overheated.Wessels says runners taking part in the Gaelic Gallop will get to see a scenic bit of the landscape, which is perhaps best known as the site for the filming of the movie “Field of Dreams.”Dyersville is also holding a St. Pat’s Day parade starting at 1:30 p-m.
