Iowans can satisfy their interst in wood on-line

March 23, 2001 By admin

While some Iowa woodworkers wouldn’t think anything about hopping in the car and driving several hours to a woodworking show, an alternative to the long trip is now online. The Iowa-based “Woodmall” is holding a virtual show for the next week via the Internet.Marlen Kemmet is the Internet Manager of the show, sponsored by Des Moines-based Wood Magazine. He says the woodworking show, which runs through April 2nd, is free to anyone with access to the World Wide Web.Kemmet says this online woodworking show isn’t meant to replace physical shows, but should make the hobby more accessible to anyone in rural areas. The show is now online at “www.woodmall.com” and features free project plans along with more than 20 stores and 40-thousand woodworking tools and accessories.
