ISU looking for 2002 opponents in football

March 30, 2001 By admin

Iowa State is searching for opponents to fill out the 2002 football schedule. Director of football operations Charlie Partridge says the Cyclones need two non-conference opponents and would like a third because schools will be allowed to schedule a 12th game that season.Partridge says their goal is to play six home games a season and says they would be willing to play on the road in non-conference play during the seasons they play Iowa at home.Partridge says in the wake of last year’s 9-3 season, which included a win in the Insight-dot-com Bowl, opponents are more difficult to find and are asking for a larger guarantee.Despite that, Partridge does not expect too many problems in filling out the 2002 slate.
