The U-S Senate will debate President Bush’s one-point-nine-trillion-dollar budget plan this week, after it passed the House last Wednesday. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassleysays the budget blueprint will determine the spending on tax relief, education reform, Medicare and prescription drug benefits and many other issues. Grassley says he plans to add three amendments to the budget bill. One would provide more economic assistance to farmers, the other amendments involve helping children with disabilities and reforming Medicare.
