A new program is underway today in Des Moines to try and help low-income families buy a home. The Home Ownership Center is a mobile facility that was purchased through a 25-thousand dollar donation from the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation. Foundation president Jorge Valencia says the center will give potential homeowners lots of information.The center will be run by Neighborhood Housing Services of Des Moines. Valencia says the information can help low-income homeowners get started on the right foot.The Neighborhood Housing Association estimates over 11-hundred people could be helped by the center.He says there is a huge need for people with an income of below 60-thousand dollars a year. Valencia says this is the first center in Iowa funded by the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation.
