Two bond issues in Northeast Iowa fail

April 4, 2001 By admin

Two bond issues, each worth more than a million-dollars, went down to defeat in northeast Iowa yesterday.Voters in the Wapsie Valley school district defeated a physical plant and equipment levy. The levy would’ve been used for a one-point-two million dollar expansion of the junior/senior high school building in Fairbank. A bond issue to finance a new swimming pool in West Union was also defeated yesterday. The bond would’ve raised one-point-three million dollars to replace the 36-year-old municipal pool.
