Forest City hosts basketball reunion

April 5, 2001 By admin

High schools across the state will be holding reunions this summer but in one basketball-crazed town they will host one of a different kind this weekend. Forest City will host the 14th annual alumni basketball tournament that will draw alums from across the country. Forest City Parks and Rec Director Sue Edmondson came up with the idea back in 1987. Edmondson says in the first year, seven teams took part. This weekend 30-teams will be in the tournament dating back to the class of 1965. Edmondson says the tournament has become popular with more than just local alums. She says they have between 15 to 20 different states represented in the tournament.
