Members of the media aren’t often held in the highest esteem. But, today you can put any ill thoughts aside for “Hug Your Newsman Day.” Clare Struck, the elementary school counselor at Price Laboratory school in Cedar Falls, says “Hug Your Newsman Day” is a way to recognize two important parts of our society, the need to connect with one another and the transferring of information, which the media provides.She says the media can handle the spoken-word, but a hug can do the rest.
