Masters signals start of golf season

The annual Masters golf tournament is underway in Augusta, Georgia and one golf equipment salesman from Des Moines expects the legendary tournament to spur sales. Pat Dunphy of Nevada Bob’s Discount Golf says this is only the beginning for booming golf sales. He says with the changes in weather and the golf tournament underway, sales will continue to increase. Tiger Woods success on the tour have made sales of his brand of golf balls a hole-in-one. Still, Dunphy says golf celebrities do not have the ultimate influence over what your average everyday golfer buys for the links.Dunphy says however, that Tiger Woods has bridged the gap between golf generations. Dunphy says Tiger Woods draws in more people from a younger crowd. The Masters wraps up Sunday.
