Despite being one of the smallest markets in professional baseball, the Clinton Lumberkings have survived. The past few years have seen Midwest League franchises move into bigger markets and there was speculation cities like Clinton and Burlington would not be able to keep their teams. Lumberkings General Manager Ted Tornow says with recent attendance increases the Clinton franchise is stronger now than it was a few years ago.Tornow says a new player development agreement with the Montreal Expos has been a plus. He says the Expos have been great to work with and they have a great track record with their minor league players.Tornow says they take pride in being able to maintain a Midwest League franchise.
