An eastern Iowa woman is charged with stealing mail in two counties. Nick Twenty-nine-year-old Karen Flores of Buffalo is accused of stealing mail from hundreds of mailboxes in Scott and Muscatine Counties. Flores is accused of using stolen checking and credit card information to steal hundreds of dollars in cash from banks. Scott County Detective Jack Rudsell says an alert woman saw Flores take items from her mailbox and called police. He says everyone should keep an eye on their mailbox. He says it’s safer to take bill payments to the post office to avoid having information stolen. Rudsell says you should also keep an eye on incoming mail for fraud. Flores is being held in the Muscatine County jail.
