State officials are asking Iowans to help “brainstorm” for new ways for state government to operate. An “e-government” survey is now on the state of Iowa’s website. Richard Varn is the state’s “Chief Information Officer.”Varn says the survey will help determine how “digital government” may work. Nurses are already able to renew their licenses on-line — and half of ’em are using the new method. Varn says research shows people save money when they renew their licenses on the web.Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson says with a tight state budget, it’s a great time to explore new ways of doing business. The four-question, “idea-gathering” survey is available on-line at: www.info.state.ia.us/Infopoll/survey/s3.thm.
