Many of the top high school basketball players from across the state will be on the Drake University campus beginning tomorrow for the “Future Stars Spring Shootout”. Van Coleman of Future Stars says the two days of competition will give players a chance to be watched by college coaches from across the country.Coleman says while the camp will give seniors another chance to be watched it is also important for juniors who are entering the peak recruiting period.Coleman says while division-one prospects get most of the attention there are more opportunities to play college basketball at lower levels. He says people don’t realize that the lower division schools have more opportunities than the division one level.Coleman says each player is evaluated throughout several games this weekend.Games begin at 12:30 tomorrow and 9:30 Saturday morning.
