State officials are surveying the damage left over from Thursday’s storms. State Emergency Management Division Administrator, Ellen Gordon, says six counties suffered major damage. Clarke, Ringgold, Wapello, Union, Madison and Franklin counties suffered major damage, while 11 other counties had minor damage. Two people died in Agency, which Gordon says was probably the hardest hit area of the state. Gordon says damage is estimated in the millions. The damage could exceed three million dollars. She says officials from her office are out in the counties today talking with local officials and getting a handle on what help they might need. Gordon says there seemed to be adequate warning for the storm, as she hasn’t heard any concerns.Gordon says she’ll meet with the governor and other agency heads today to talk about what resources are available to help storm victims.
