Iowa Cubs open home season tonight

April 13, 2001 By admin

The Iowa Cubs open their home season tonight against Tucson in Pacific Coast League action. The I-Cubs are coming off a west coast road swing to begin the season and General Manager Sam Bernabe expects the team will be vastly improved over a year ago. He says there are more prospects and top draft choices than he’s had in years.Bernabe says this team looks much better than last year’s club which finished 30-games below 500. Bernabe says it is a young club with the average age of 23. He says they’re good young kids who should be a fun team to watch.
