Riders help Camp Sunnyside

April 13, 2001 By admin

Pony Express-style riders left ten different Iowa towns this morning, all of them galloping toward Camp Sunnyside near Des Moines. Steve Broom is one of the organizers of the 34th annual ride, which raises money for the camp for kids, run by Easter Seals of Iowa. Instead of delivering mail, these Pony Express riders are delivering donations for the charity. Bromm says several hundred riders took part in the ride last year and this one promises to be just as good.More than 329-thousand dollars was raised at last year’s event.
