April 18, 2001 By admin

New Northern Iowa football coach Mark Farley says he has been pleased with spring drills so far. The Panthers will host their annual intrasquad game on April 28th and conducted their first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday.Farley says he wanted to find out who could run, who could tackle, and who could play. Farley says the coaching staff learned a great deal from the scrimmage. He says he was pleased with the hustle from the players. Three players are in the running to become the starting quarterback. Farley says none of them has the edge right now. He says there are seven days left to find out which combinations work best.
