William Penn moves into Iowa Conference softball hunt

William Penn has established itself as a title contender in the Iowa Conference softball race. The Lady Statesmen are 7-1 in the league race heading into tomorrow’s showdown with fourth ranked Central. Penn coach Dave Philop says with a 22-9 overall mark the program has developed consistency.It is the teams sixth consecutive season they have won 20 games in a row.Philop says the tough Iowa Conference race is also an indicator of how a team can compete nationally. Philop says under coach George Wares, Central has become one of the nation’s top programs.
