Raffi speaks to Iowa kids

April 20, 2001 By admin

A national entertainer came to Iowa to speak on behalf of his fans, since some are too young to speak for themselves. At least 2-thousand of the 26-thousand members of the Midwest Association for the Education of Young Children attended a presentation by renowned children’s music recording artist “Raffi.” Members at the annual conference included college professors, elementary and preschool teachers, and agency workers as well as daycare providers. The folksinger told the crowd at the Polk County Convention Center about his views on children’s rights and environmentalism.
