Iowa State University students unveiled their latest solar-powered car Friday. The car is called the “PrISUm Odyssey,” and teammember Nick Mohr says it looks like an alien ship.Mohr says they’ll race the car in a national solar race in July. The “American Solar Challenge” race has changed from the previous race, which was run in stages.Mohr says this race is a traditional run, with the first car to cross the finish line winning. Mohr says the new car costs twice as much as the previous car.Mohr says the car cost about 650-thousand dollars. ISU students do all the work building and racing the car.This is the sixth solar car built by ISU students.
