The U-S Agriculture Secretary will testify today before Iowa Congressman Tom Latham’s subcommittee on Ag Appropriations. Latham, a republican from Alexander, says he has several issues to take up with Ann Veneman, such as feedlot regulations.Latham also wants to question the Ag Secretary on the U-S-D-A’s preparedness to keep America safe from outbreaks of hoof-and-mouth disease, mad cow disease and any of the other livestock outbreaks being watched globally.Latham says an outbreak of hoof-and-mouth disease could devastate Iowa’s livestock industry.
