Hometown rallies around woman after auto accident

A fundraising effort is underway in the northeast Iowa hometown of Lindsay Thomas to help her pay her medical bills. The 18-year-old Clive woman is recovering after being trapped in her wrecked car for five days. Thomas was found in the car off Interstate 35 by a D-O-T crew. Thomas had to have both legs amputated and remains in serious condition at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Two banks in Thomas’ hometown of West Union are setting up accounts to take donations. The First National Bank and the Farmer’s Savings Bank in West Union have established accounts to take donations.
