Postal carriers pick up food today

U-S Postal carriers are taking on an added load today to help the hungry. The Postal service is asking you to put donations for area food banks out today along with your mail.Marry Berardi is a spokesperson for the Des Moines Post Office. Berrardi says you should place the non-perishable food items near you mailbox.The food donations could add several pounds to their load, but Berrardi says the carriers don’t mind.Mail carriers across Iowa and the United States are taking part in the food drive.
