UNI players anxious to meet the Huskers again

May 22, 2001 By admin

The Northern Iowa Panthers open the N-C-A-A baseball regional at Nebraska on Thursday afternoon. The Panthers are the fourth seed after winning their first-ever Missouri Valley Conference tournament title last weekend. U-N-I’s last defeat came at the hands of Nebraska back on May 8th. Panther pitcher Nick Ungs says the Panthers could have won that game and that will help give them confidence. He says they need to keep errors to a minimum.Ungs says they are looking forward to the tournament as they’ve worked hard all year long to get where they are. Missouri Valley M-V-P Ryan Brunner likes the first round matchup. He says they already know what it’s like going to Lincoln because they’ve already been there.
