CR Xavier off to a good start

The Cedar Rapids Xavier high school baseball team is off to a good start this season. The Saints are 7-2 and ranked second in class 3A in the latest Radio Iowa/Coaches Association poll after Monday night’s doubleheader split with Iowa City High. Xavier coach Dave Schemmel who says sophomore pitcher Ryan Sweeney has been oustanding so far as have four players who all started as sophomores last year.Xavier returns to action tonight with a game against class 2A second ranked Cascade.
