Walk raises funds for breast cancer

They won’t be racing Sunday in Des Moines but rather walking in hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer. The five mile walk is called “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”. Megan Nehry of the American Cancer Society says more than two thousand walkers are expected to take part and says the event is geared to everyone and not just athletes.Nehry says breast cancer has a significant impact on the state of Iowa. She says 23-hundred women in Iowa will be diagnosed with cancer this year. She says about 500 will die from breast cancer this year in Iowa.
