Maytag has named a former Whirlpool executive as its new Chief Executive Officer. Maytag’s Board of Directors chose Ralph Hake to be CEO and Chairman of the Board , effective immediately. Hake has worked for Whirlpool, but most recently worked for a ten-billion-dollar engineering, construction and professional services firm. Search committee head Howard Clark Junior says Hake brings a range of operating, financial and strategic experience to Maytag, much of it in the major-appliance industry. Leonard Hadley, who’s served the last 7 months as acting CEO, will remain on the board.
