Winfield woman dies in accident

A Monday accident in Washington County killed a Winfield woman. Forty-four-year-old Debra E. Arthur of Winfield was westbound on a road in Washington County approaching the intersection of Highway 218 when she failed to stop at a stop sign, hit the trailer of a northbound semi, and went into the ditch. She was thrown from the car and was dead at the scene. The truck driver, 35-year-old of Patrick Stellern of Mediapolis, was not hurt.
