Davenport man’s a suspect in Illinois Trooper’s death

Police are searching for a Davenport man in connection with the weekend death of a veteran Illinois state trooper. Police want to question a 32-year-old Victor Lightner, also known as Jimmy Lightner, Junior. Fifty-year-old Stanley Talbot was killed early Saturday morning during a safety check. The car the trooper had pulled over took off, but the trooper was caught on the car and dragged four-and-a-half blocks to his death. Talbot’s wife is also a trooper, and the couple’s daughter entered the Illinois State Police Academy this month.
