Part of Delaware County named enterprise zone

June 25, 2001 By admin

State officials have declared the central portion of Delaware County an “enterprise zone.” Delaware County economic development commission director Chad Schrock.says an enterprise zone is a tool to encourage businesses to move to the county or expand there. “Enterprise zones” were created in 1997.Schrock says the enterprise-zone designation will let Delaware County compete with others for those new or growing businesses. Four other counties, Muscatine, Jefferson, Monroe and Shelby counties were also named enterprise zones this past week.
