Police rule out Davenport suspects in Trooper death

June 25, 2001 By admin

Police are starting over in their investigation of the weekend death of a veteran Illinois State Trooper. Master Sergeant Stanley Talbot died early Saturday during a traffic stop in Rock Island, Illinois. Talbot stopped a car that had crossed the Mississippi River on the Centennial Bridge from Davenport. The car sped away, dragging Talbot four-and-a-half blocks. Cops have questioned two brothers, but say neither is responsible. Police are now looking for a white or Hispanic man who was driving a white, four-door Buick or Oldsmobile with noticeable rust and fake wire wheels.
