Davenport officials say the Quad City River Bandits will return to John O’Donnell Stadium on July 2nd. Jeff Farland of the Davenport Park and Recreation Department says a 20-foot deep sinkhole discovered in May will be repaired in time for the baseball team’s return.Farland says considering the sewer problem in the outfield he feels repairs have progressed at a steady pace.Farland says the final days will involve sprucing up the stadium, including lots of painting. He says it’s just like opening day all over again.The River Bandits have not played a home game since April 15th when floodwaters from the Mississippi River began to threaten the city.
