Davenport city officials vote themselves a big raise

City leaders in Davenport have voted themselves a whopper pay raise. Monday night, the city council members okayed the first reading for a measure to increase their pay by 34-percent to 14-thousand-500 dollars a year for the ten alderman. The Mayor’s salary will go up about 19-percent to 45-thousand a year. Mayor Phil Yerington says the people of Davenport have been getting a bargain.
