Carroll readies for baseball tourney

The state baseball tournament is still a couple of weeks away, but the small town of Carroll is already bracing itself for the rush of people this year. Carroll hosts the 1A and 3A portion of the tournament, while the 2A and 4A games are played in Marshalltown. Jim Gossett, Director of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce says the community is ready.Gossett says things get busy, but Carroll residents don’t mind.Gossett says baseball has long been an important part of Carroll. The Iowa High School baseball tournament begins in Carroll on July 25th.
