Emmetsburg hopes to continue tourney success

July 17, 2001 By admin

High school baseball tournament action continues across the state tonight. In class 2A, sixth-ranked Emmetsburg takes on Sibley-Ocheydan in a district final. Emmetsburg is coming off a suprisingly easy victory over number-seven Algona Garrigan.Emmetsburg coach Mike Brennan says they’ve split the six previous games in close contests, so winning by the 10-run rule was a complete surprise. The goal now is to avoid a letdown. He says they’ve been focusing on that.
