Music returns to Davenport

July 20, 2001 By admin

The toe-tappin’ tunes of Dixieland jazz will soon be lilting along the Mississippi Riverfront in the Quad Cities. The 30th annual Bix Biederbecke Memorial Jazz Festival opens at noon today and runs through the weekend. It’s the first event to be held along Davenport’s riverside LeClaire Park after the major floods this spring. Tens of thousands of dollars were spent to re-sod the park and on other repairs.
