Clinton murder trials delayed

The trials for two men accused of robbing and killing Clinton tavern manager Pamela Widner in January will be delayed. In court Tuesday, the trial of 37-year-old George Prentiss of Clinton was moved from September to December 3rd as his co-counsel is moving to Ireland. A new co-counsel will be appointed. The attorney for the other suspect says he has a conflict of interest with one of the witnesses, so the trial for 45-year-old Robert Jackson of Clinton was moved from this week to October while a new lawyer is appointed. Jackson and Prentiss are being held in the Clinton County Jail under one million dollars bond each.
