CEO of IBP to retire

The chairman and C-E-O of I-B-P announced his retirement from the Dakota Dunes facility this morning. Robert Peterson will become a board member for Tyson Foods, the Arkansas-based company which is buying the meatpacker. I-B-P spokesman Gary Mickelson says the 20 years under Peterson’s direction saw I-B-P become a global player. the company grew from 95-hundred employees to 52-thousand, and sales have grown to almost 17 billion dollars.Mickelson says Peterson has helped guide I-B-P for decades in various aspects of the business.Tyson and I-B-P officials figure the stock portion of the merger will be complete within 60 days.
