Grinnell football player wins preseason honor

August 16, 2001 By admin

Grinnell College tight end Jeff Peterson has been named a pre-season division three all-american by “Street and Smith” magazine. Grinnell College coach Greg Wallace says the honor is well deserved. Peterson spent part of last season at quarterback and Wallace says the Colorado native is a versatile athlete that makes coaches drool, because he can play a number of positions.Wallace says pre-season and post-season individual honors are due in part to the recent success of the program.Among others on the pre-season all american is Buena Vista kicker Carlos Martinez. Grinnell College opens the season September eighth at Claremont College in California.
