Latham says Condit should resign

August 24, 2001 By admin

Congressman Tom Latham says it’s time for Gary Condit to resign from Congress. Condit’s the California Congressman who had a relationship with intern Chandra Levy, who’s now missing. Latham watched Condit’s television interview last night. Latham says he was surprised by Condit’s conduct, and the way he appeared on television last night. He says he was very disappointed that Condit was not forthcoming in what happened.Latham says Condit’s “brought shame” on the House of Representatives, and it’s distressing that Condit appears to be more concerned about his political career than with the search for Levy. Latham says no member of Congress wants to be seen with Condit.Latham says if enough members of Congress come out and call for Condit’s resignation, it will likely pressure him to resign soon.
